The first arrivals from South Africa began entering the U.S. in May of the previous year, with numbers escalating sharply in early 2026. February and March alone saw 2,848 individuals resettled across multiple states, with Texas currently hosting the largest concentration at 543.

Trump reportedly presented Ramaphosa with numerous videos documenting calls for violence against white farmers, directly challenging the South African leader’s perspective.
