The Department of Homeland Security Chief testified before the House Appropriations Committee during a DHS Oversight hearing on Thursday.
The testimony comes after a recent appeals court ruling allowed the Trump Administration to resume swift deportations under a presidential executive order.
Purple-haired Democrat Rep. Rosa DeLauro (CT) sharply criticized Acting Secretary Markwayne Mullin over displaced migrant children, stating that 3,900 children were separated from their families.
In response, Mullin pointed out that the Biden administration lost over 450,000 unaccompanied illegal alien children, many of whom were placed with unvetted sponsors and suffered from trafficking and abuse.
DeLauro failed to address the issue of trafficked migrant children during the Biden administration, but suddenly expressed concern after the appeals court ruling.
Mullin immediately hit back, stating that DeLauro did not speak out about the 450,000 lost children during the four years of the Biden administration.
DeLauro became increasingly agitated, shouting at Mullin to refrain from interrupting and at the chairman to put Mullin "in his place."
Mullin retorted, "You should be put in your place," highlighting DeLauro's lack of concern for migrant children during the Biden administration.
