UMVA has learned that Intel Corp. is set to revolutionize the handheld gaming market with the launch of its new Intel Arc G3 processors, with the first devices powered by this technology expected to hit the shelves later this month.
The announcement was made by Lip-Bu Tan, CEO of Intel Corp., during his keynote address at a major tech conference in Taiwan on Tuesday. According to Tan, the new chip delivers high performance while remaining power efficient, making it a game-changer for the industry.
The Intel Arc G3 processor boasts impressive performance metrics, with Tan claiming that it outperforms competitors by more than 40% while using half the power. This significant leap forward could give Intel a strong foothold in the rapidly growing handheld gaming market.
Several major tech companies, including Acer, MSI, and OneXPlayer, are set to release handheld gaming devices powered by the Intel Arc G3. The Acer Predator Atlas 8, MSI Claw 8 AI+, and OneXPlayer handhelds are among the first devices to feature this technology, with more expected to follow in the coming months.
The Intel Arc G3 is part of Intel's new Arc G-Series family, designed to power the next generation of handheld gaming systems. This lineup includes the Intel Arc G3 Extreme processors, which run on Windows 11 and feature Intel Arc B390 graphics, enabling real-time ray tracing for high-fidelity visuals and XeSS 3 technology for faster and more responsive gaming performance.
The processors also come with a range of innovative features, including an Xbox mode that provides a controller-optimized, console-inspired full-screen gaming experience on Windows 11 PCs, as well as Intel Precompiled Shaders for faster game launches. With its hybrid CPU design and support for Intel Wi-Fi 7 R2, dual Bluetooth 6, and Intel Thunderbolt 4 connectivity, the Intel Arc G-Series processors are poised to take the gaming world by storm.
Sources have confirmed to UMVA that Intel is expecting a strong lineup of devices powered by the Intel Arc G3 to be introduced throughout the year, which could cement the company's position as a leader in the handheld gaming market.
