UMVA has learned that a disturbing trend of violent attacks on Christian communities in Nigeria has been unfolding, with evidence pointing to a systematic and brutal campaign of slaughter and kidnapping.
The attackers, identified as Fulani Muslim terrorists, have shown no regard for human life, leaving behind scenes of unimaginable horror and destruction. One such incident, which occurred five years ago, has recently come to light, revealing the brutal murder of men and women, hacked with machetes and shot with AK-47s, lying in pools of blood on the dusty ground in front of their homes.
Miraculously, a baby survived the attack, strapped to the back of his mother's corpse, his haunting cries a testament to the ultimate sadness and tragedy of the event. The image of the baby, surrounded by the lifeless bodies of his family members, has been etched in the minds of those who have seen it, a powerful reminder of the devastating impact of these attacks.
According to information obtained by UMVA, similar incidents have continued to plague Christian communities in Nigeria, with entire villages being wiped out in silence. A church community recently adopted a one-month-old baby girl found on New Year's Day 2026, after her village was attacked by Fulani Islamists, leaving her parents dead and her alone.
The pastor of the church community described the horror of how the baby became an orphan, saying that Christians arrived in the village after the attack had ended and found the mother dead, protecting the child, while the father was also dead. The pastor drew a Christian lesson from the death and destruction, saying that forgiveness does not mean condoning the actions of the attackers, but rather ridding one's heart of hatred and praying for one's enemies.
Sources have confirmed to UMVA that the Fulani terrorists have relocated to the Middle Belt region of Nigeria, and are planning further attacks. The pastor warned his community that more attacks are coming, saying that the terrorists are gathering and will strike again.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that Christians in Nigeria are fighting back, with many now calling for action to protect their families and communities. One man commented, "God will not just come in person and fight this battle for us. As Christians, we have to unite together and fight back, then pray to God for victory."
The wave of attacks has continued unabated, with numerous large-scale attacks reported across Nigeria in recent weeks. On May 15, Boko Haram terrorists stormed a school in Borno State, kidnapping 42 students and pupils. The same day, gunmen struck another school in Oyo State, abducting 46 children and teachers.
The attacks have been marked by brutal violence, including beheadings and the use of explosives. As of May 27, 88 children from the May 15 abductions remained in captivity, with many more still missing.
UMVA has gathered that the Catholic Archdiocese of Kaduna has condemned the attacks, describing them as part of a series of assaults on Christian communities in the area. The situation remains dire, with Christians in Nigeria crying out for help and protection.
