MEDIA LIES EXPOSED: Why Are They Shielding Iran?

A recent analysis revealed a striking imbalance in how the term “war crime” was used by major news organizations during the initial weeks of the recent conflict. While the phrase appeared nearly three dozen times, a disproportionate majority focused accusations toward the United States and Israel.

The study, conducted by a U.S.-based media watchdog, meticulously counted 32 instances of “war crime” across the BBC, CNN, NBC News, The New York Times, and The Washington Post. A staggering 88 percent – 28 cases – solely attributed the label to actions taken by the U.S. or Israel.

Remarkably, zero instances directly and solely accused the Islamic Republic of Iran of committing war crimes. Only four mentions were either unattributed or applied to both sides, highlighting a significant disparity in coverage.

Much of the focus on alleged U.S. and Israeli “war crimes” stemmed from an airstrike in Minab, Iran, which reportedly damaged a school. While the Pentagon is investigating this incident, the immediate labeling raised questions about journalistic objectivity.

The analysis pointed to several instances that received little to no “war crime” designation, despite potentially violating international law. These included the use of cluster bombs by Iran, many of which impacted civilian areas within Israel and neighboring countries.

Iranian strikes targeting critical infrastructure in nations not directly involved in the conflict – such as Kuwait and Bahrain – also went largely unmentioned in the context of war crimes. When Iran was mentioned in discussions of potential war crimes, it was often alongside equivalent criticism of Western nations.

This pattern, according to the analysis, represents a troubling inversion of reality, potentially shaping public perception through biased language. The selective application of such a serious term raises concerns about journalistic standards and fairness.

Legal scholars have echoed these concerns, noting the data confirms a clear bias in favor of the Iranian regime within the reporting of these prominent media organizations. The stark contrast between accusations leveled against the West and the lack of scrutiny directed at Iran is deeply troubling.

The organization conducting the analysis was founded in response to perceived anti-Israel bias in media coverage decades ago. Its early supporters included prominent figures from both sides of the American political spectrum, demonstrating a long-standing commitment to accurate reporting on the Middle East.

The findings underscore the critical importance of independent media analysis and the need for audiences to critically evaluate the language used in news reporting, particularly when dealing with complex and sensitive geopolitical events.
