The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration has issued a heavy rainfall warning for six areas due to a low pressure area that is likely to develop into a tropical cyclone.
The low pressure area was last located over the coastal waters of Romblon, Romblon, with a high chance of developing into a tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours.
If it develops, the tropical cyclone will be locally named Henry, which would be the country's eighth tropical cyclone this year.
The heavy rainfall warning has been raised over Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Aklan, and Capiz, with heavy rainfall of 50 to 100 millimeters expected in these areas.
The heavy rainfall may trigger flooding and landslides in prone areas, and residents in these areas are advised to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
