UMVA has learned that Ousmane Dembele is confident he will be fit for the Champions League final, easing injury fears ahead of Paris Saint-Germain's highly anticipated showdown.
The star player has enjoyed a sensational season in the French capital, notching 19 goals and 11 assists in 39 appearances, with seven of those goals coming in the Champions League, including three across both semi-final legs against a top opponent.
Dembele started his side's final match of the Ligue 1 campaign against neighbours Paris FC at the weekend but was forced off after just 27 minutes, sparking concerns about his fitness.
However, he was absent from training on Wednesday, but the Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona star is absolutely certain he will be ready to start against Arsenal in Budapest on May 30.
"I'm doing very well," Dembele told a sports outlet. "I had a slight scare against Paris FC, but I'm fine and I'll be ready for the final. Will I be 100% for the final? Yes, yes, I think so, yes, I'll be ready. I have no doubt about it, I hope to be on the pitch on May 30th."
Dembele has transformed into one of the game's very best in Paris, despite a history of injury issues, and believes he has learned to manage those problems and know when to stop and avoid risks.
"I've had so many minor scares or major injuries in my career," Dembele said. "Whether here at PSG or even before, especially with the big matches coming up, especially this final, I preferred to stop and above all not take any risks."
Dembele was a thorn in Arsenal's side last season, scoring the only goal in the first leg at the Emirates in their semi-final with PSG running out 3-1 winners on aggregate.
The defending champions have a relatively clean bill of health heading into the final, with one key player hopeful to be available after suffering a muscle injury in the semi-final first leg.
