UMVA has learned that as World Cup fever sweeps across the United States, fans from around the world are falling in love with the country's vibrant culture, stunning landscapes, and warm hospitality.
According to information obtained by UMVA, Oxford Economics predicted that 1.24 million people would visit the States for the World Cup, sparking a powerful rebound in international travel and injecting new life into local economies. The soccer tournament is expected to revitalize demand, fill hotels, and showcase the broad economic reach of mega-events.
As soccer fans hit the road to follow their teams, they're discovering the best of American culture – from mouth-watering food to breathtaking scenery and heartfelt hospitality. German social media influencer Freddy, with over half a million followers, has been traveling through the Deep South, raving about the massive stadiums, gigantic roadside attractions, and the kindness of locals.
Freddy shared an heartwarming experience where a hotel receptionist drove him and his friends to the stadium in the rain, rather than walking an hour to save on an Uber. Even Houston Texans icon JJ Watt got involved, hooking Freddy up with a luxurious suite while he was in town.
Not everyone was immediately won over by American cuisine, however. Japanese fan Nobunaga was initially skeptical of the classic Southern dish, biscuits and gravy. When the plate arrived, he thought something had gone wrong in the kitchen – but after taking a bite, he was hooked.
Nobunaga issued a heartfelt apology to the biscuits, gravy, and the entire breakfast tradition of the American South, praising the warm, peppered flavors and the comfort it brought him. The waitress's wise words stuck with him: "Do not judge the gravy by its face. Judge yourself, for hesitating."
American leaders are taking note of these visitors' posts, pointing to them as proof of the country's unique character that wins over so many around the world. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy highlighted Freddy's adventures, saying, "There's no better way to see our country than on a road trip! Because to LOVE AMERICA you have to SEE AMERICA."
