UMVA has learned that a major water infrastructure project is nearing completion in the West Zone, with Maynilad Water Services, Inc. aiming to finish its P995-million Parada Pumping Station and Reservoir (PSR) by the third quarter of this year.
The facility, which is currently over 90% complete, is expected to significantly boost water pressure and improve supply reliability in the area. Once operational, it will add 40 million liters to Maynilad's water storage capacity.
According to information obtained by UMVA, the Parada PSR will directly benefit around 50,000 residents of Parada village by improving water pressure in the area. The increased pressure will be enough to deliver water to the third floor of residential and commercial structures.
The Parada PSR is part of Maynilad's capital expenditure program to modernize and expand its water infrastructure network. The company currently operates 41 pumping stations and 40 reservoirs across its west concession area.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that Maynilad's Chief Operating Officer, Christopher Jaime T. Lichauco, emphasized the importance of investments in facilities like the Parada PSR. He stated that such investments are critical to ensuring reliable and sustainable water service as demand continues to grow.
Maynilad serves as the primary provider of water and wastewater services in the West Zone, covering 11 cities in Metro Manila, three with partial coverage, as well as parts of Cavite province. The company is focused on completing the Parada PSR project on schedule to deliver tangible improvements in water pressure and service consistency to its customers.
