Arsenal are reportedly in talks to sign Brazilian star Bruno Guimaraes, with the 26-year-old said to prefer a move to the Emirates over a possible transfer to a rival Premier League club.
Other clubs have already made significant signings this transfer window, including Tottenham, who have completed deals for Marcos Senesi, Jan Paul van Hecke, Andy Robertson and Martin Dubravka.
Former Liverpool player Jamie Carragher believes Tottenham's new manager, Roberto De Zerbi, is keen to make a strong statement with his signings and bring in players who can help the team challenge for the Champions League.
"He wants to get things done quickly and bring his own players there as soon as possible, before pre-season starts," Carragher said.
"He's a top coach and it looks like he's attracting some top players, and Tonali is that," Carragher added, referring to another high-profile transfer target.
The transfer window remains open, with several top clubs still actively pursuing new signings before the start of the new season.
