The Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) has announced an extension of visa-free entry for Taiwan passport holders until 2027.
The visa-free privilege, which was initially set to expire, will remain in effect until June 30, 2027, allowing Taiwan passport holders to stay in the Philippines for up to 14 days without a visa.
According to the MECO advisory, standard travel requirements and processes in effect since July 1, 2025, will continue to apply to Taiwanese visitors.
However, those intending to stay in the Philippines for more than 14 days will still be required to secure a visa before entry.
The visa-free privilege is non-extendible and non-convertible to other Philippine visa categories, the MECO emphasized.
The extension of visa-free entry for Taiwan passport holders comes as a reciprocal gesture to the Philippines' arrangement with Taiwan, which granted Philippine passport holders a visa-free entry arrangement in 2017, set to expire on July 31.
Taiwan has yet to announce whether it will extend the visa-free privilege for Filipinos.
