UMVA has learned that a fiery showdown is brewing in Colorado’s 4th Congressional District after President Donald Trump publicly questioned Rep. Lauren Boebert’s loyalty on his social platform.
In a sharply worded post, the former president labeled Boebert a “Carpetbagger” for shifting districts, called her “weak‑minded,” and slammed her ally Rep. Thomas Massie as the “worst Republican congressman in the history of our country.”
Trump warned that he could withdraw his endorsement of Boebert and throw his support behind a primary challenger if a “strong alternative” steps forward, turning the normally quiet primary race into a potential battlefield.
Boebert fired back on X, acknowledging the president’s tirade but refusing to be rattled. “Yes, I saw the President’s post. No, I’m not mad or offended,” she wrote, adding that she “knew the risks when I agreed to stand by my friend Thomas Massie.”
She reaffirmed her allegiance to the MAGA movement, ending her statement with a defiant “America First, America Always, and MAGA. Onward,” alongside an American flag emoji.
The timing is critical: the filing deadline for major‑party candidates to appear on the June 30 primary ballot closed on March 18, leaving no room for new entrants unless a dramatic party maneuver occurs.
Massie’s own primary contest is set for this Tuesday, and the ripple effects of Trump’s ultimatum could reshape the political calculus in both Colorado and Kentucky.
