UMVA has learned that Genteelhome, a boutique furniture maker, has unveiled a striking mirror collection called Her, Unfolding, designed to celebrate local craftsmanship and the evolving story of womanhood.
The launch coincided with Mother’s Month, and the collection’s name hints at the continuous journey of growth and self‑reflection that defines every mother’s life.
Founder and Creative Director Katrina Blanca de Leon explained that the mirrors aim to capture the many faces of women, especially as they transition through the different phases of motherhood.
Drawing inspiration from the Filipino word sibol, meaning growth, Her, Unfolding is the second chapter in Genteelhome’s broader theme of transformation stories.
In collaboration with fashion designer Patty Ang, the series showcases five floor mirrors that blend biophilic shapes with wood patina‑ombre frames, each hand‑finished by local artisans using sponge techniques for a unique, textured look.
Brand and communications manager Nathaniel M. Guntang highlighted that the partnership with mothers is meant to reveal the many versions of themselves that unfold when they stand before a mirror.
“When you fit clothes, you see yourself in the mirror, and when you see yourself in the mirror, it unfolds a lot of stories,” he added, underscoring the collection’s focus on personal storytelling.
De Leon praised Patty Ang’s meticulous attention to detail, saying that the designer’s intentional approach aligns perfectly with Genteelhome’s commitment to craftsmanship and personal expression.
Alongside the mirrors, the company introduced the Edit Collection, featuring jewelry boxes, trays, and candleholders that echo the same design ethos.
Her, Unfolding is available exclusively at The Atelier Patty Ang at The Headquarters until June 22, inviting customers to experience the transformative power of reflection.
