Senator Mitch McConnell was hospitalized after a medical emergency at his Washington, D.C., residence on June 14.
The 84‑year‑old lawmaker was found unconscious and transported to a hospital, where his spokesperson said he was receiving excellent care. The specific cause of his admission has not been disclosed, though a heart attack has been mentioned as a possible factor.
Recently released video captures the moment McConnell was placed on a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance outside his home.
The footage, recorded by a nearby resident, shows emergency vehicles and law‑enforcement personnel blocking the street early that morning.
The resident recalled hearing a disturbance around 8:30 a.m., seeing two ambulances, a fire truck, and police officers, and being told only that a medical emergency was occurring.
According to the neighbor, a second eyewitness identified the individual on the stretcher as McConnell and noted that he was not wearing an oxygen mask.
The new visual evidence and eyewitness testimony add details to a hospitalization that has been largely private.
Officials have not provided further information about McConnell’s condition or the underlying medical issue.
