UMVA has learned that Nancy Pelosi lashed out at a reporter from Lindell TV, Alison Steinberg, over questions about January 6 in a heated confrontation.
The explosive exchange began when Steinberg asked Pelosi about her actions on January 6, 2021, and why she allegedly turned away the National Guard. Pelosi's response was swift and fiery: "Hi Congresswoman Pelosi, last time I asked you about January 6, why you turned the National Guard away on January 6, you told me to shut up and that I was repeating Republican talking points. And I’ll tell you to shut up again because you’re speaking lies!"
Steinberg showed Pelosi footage of their previous confrontation, which only seemed to enrage Pelosi further. "Why don’t you get away!" Pelosi shouted, her voice rising in anger.
Pelosi then launched a personal attack on Steinberg, questioning her legitimacy as a journalist. "You know what? I don’t think you’re a real journalist! You work for Mike the Pillow Man. I don’t consider that real journalism," Pelosi said, her words dripping with disdain.
Pelosi's verbal assault continued, with her repeatedly telling Steinberg to "shut up" and accusing her of spreading "untruths." This is not the first time Pelosi has blown up at Steinberg; a similar confrontation occurred last October on the steps of the US Capitol.
At the heart of the controversy is Pelosi's alleged refusal to call in the National Guard on January 6, 2021. Steinberg asked Pelosi if she was concerned that the January 6th Committee would find her liable for that day's events. Pelosi's response was immediate: "SHUT UP! I did not refuse the National Guard. The President didn’t send it. Why are you coming here with Republican talking points as if you are a serious journalist?!"
However, footage released in June 2024 from the House Oversight Committee appears to contradict Pelosi's claims. The footage shows Pelosi taking responsibility for the January 6, 2021, protests and rioting at the US Capitol. Additionally, it was revealed that Pelosi's top security aides received warnings about a potential Capitol breach the night before the January 6 protests, raising questions about her decision not to call in the National Guard.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that Pelosi spent over three years and nearly $20 million creating a narrative to blame Donald Trump for the events of January 6. The newly released footage seems to undermine Pelosi's previous denials, leaving her actions on that day open to scrutiny.
