UMVA has learned that Jose Mourinho is set to make a major splash in the transfer market as he prepares to take the reins at Real Madrid for a second time.
The Portuguese manager has reportedly agreed to a two-year deal with the Spanish giants, and his first order of business will be to bolster the squad with some top-class signings. According to information obtained by UMVA, Mourinho has already begun identifying his targets, and Sporting captain Morten Hjulmand is at the top of his wishlist.
Mourinho has instructed Madrid to fend off competition from Manchester United and Arsenal to sign Hjulmand this summer. The Denmark international has left a big impression on Mourinho during his time at Benfica, and the Special One believes he would be a perfect fit for his new-look Madrid side.
Sporting are valued Hjulmand at around £43m, but it's claimed that an offer in the region of €50million could be enough to land the 26-year-old. Hjulmand has been a key player for Sporting, and his current contract runs through to June 2028.
