During a House Judiciary hearing on Tuesday, the mother of a Loyola University student who was murdered by an undocumented immigrant spoke out against Democrats.
Jessica Gorman's 18-year-old daughter, Sheridan, was shot and killed in Chicago earlier this year. A masked gunman approached a group of students near campus and opened fire, striking Gorman in the head.
The gunman, a 25-year-old man from Venezuela, had entered the US under the current administration's policies.
Gorman expressed her frustration and anger during the hearing, stating that failed border policies, sanctuary city laws, and uncooperative leaders have led to her daughter's death.
"They sent her to her grave," Gorman said, emphasizing the need for politicians to prioritize the safety of American citizens.
Gorman questioned the committee about when protecting American citizens stopped being their top priority and why it stopped being a priority at all.
"This cannot be buried under your slogans, your statistics or excuses, and this just can't stand," Gorman declared, demanding answers and accountability from those in power.
