PARADE HORROR: Woman Killed in St. Patrick's Day Tragedy!

PARADE HORROR: Woman Killed in St. Patrick's Day Tragedy!

A joyous St. Patrick’s Day celebration in Louisville, Kentucky, turned into a scene of unimaginable tragedy this past weekend. A woman, caught in the path of a parade float, suffered fatal injuries before a horrified crowd.

The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon, near the intersection of Bardstown Road and Grinstead Drive, during the city’s 53rd annual parade. Authorities responded to reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle just before 4 p.m., unaware of the devastating circumstances that awaited them.

Joan Pannuti, 50 years old, was walking alongside one of the floats when her foot became entangled. The sudden snag pulled her off balance, and she fell directly under the moving vehicle. The weight of the float proved catastrophic.

The float’s driver immediately brought it to a halt, and bystanders rushed to provide assistance. First aid was administered at the scene, a desperate attempt to stabilize Pannuti before paramedics arrived. She was quickly transported to a local hospital, but the injuries were too severe.

Disturbing video footage captured the immediate aftermath, showing concerned citizens scrambling to help. A silver truck, decorated with four-leaf clovers, was visible, having towed the float. The scene was one of chaos and growing dread.

David Gnamba, a food vendor at the parade, initially underestimated the severity of the situation. “I seen the EMS attending to somebody… I saw somebody on the stretcher, not thinking it was something very serious,” he recounted, his voice heavy with regret.

The realization of the tragedy quickly set in, casting a pall over the festivities. “It does break my heart because that’s a person that lost their life,” Gnamba added, expressing the collective grief of those present. “This is not news that we want to hear.”

Organizers of the Hibernian Cultural and Charitable Association released a statement, expressing their profound sadness over the accident. The joy of the day had been irrevocably shattered by the loss of life.

Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg publicly offered his condolences and called for prayers for Pannuti and her family. He described the incident as a heartbreaking tragedy, a sentiment echoed throughout the community.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, as authorities work to understand exactly how the accident occurred and to prevent similar tragedies in the future. The city mourns the unexpected loss of Joan Pannuti.
