A chilling encounter unfolded in downtown Toronto, leaving one victim robbed and shaken after a seemingly innocent online connection turned sinister. The ordeal began with a classified ad and ended with a desperate journey through the city, orchestrated by three women.
Police are investigating after the victim met one of the suspects at a hotel near Yonge and Gerrard Streets. What followed was a terrifying sequence of events, beginning with a drink allegedly laced with an unknown substance, quickly leaving the victim feeling unwell and vulnerable.
The suspect then coerced the victim into a black Dodge Durango, already occupied by two other women. Inside the vehicle, the victim’s phone was seized, and a series of unauthorized electronic transfers began draining their funds.
When the electronic transfer limits were reached, the suspects forced the victim to withdraw additional cash from an ATM. The victim was then abandoned at another hotel, near University Avenue and Adelaide Street West, left to grapple with the aftermath of the calculated theft.
Authorities have released a photo of one of the suspects – a blond female seen wearing a puffy black jacket and tight black pants. Investigators believe there may be other victims who have been targeted by this group and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
In a separate incident, Toronto Police are also seeking a man accused of committing indecent acts on a TTC streetcar. The incidents occurred on March 21st, leaving passengers frightened and disturbed.
Special constables responded to reports of exposure near Dufferin Street and King Street West. The suspect allegedly targeted two separate victims, performing indecent acts while seated on the streetcar and then approaching a second victim before fleeing the scene.
The suspect is described as a man in his late 20s, approximately 5-foot-8, and was last seen wearing dark blue jeans, a brown belt, a red sweatshirt with the hood up, a red tuque, a blue and white bomber jacket, and red running shoes.
Police are actively pursuing leads in both cases, emphasizing the importance of vigilance and reporting any suspicious activity. Anyone with information regarding either incident is encouraged to contact authorities.
These incidents serve as a stark reminder of the potential dangers lurking beneath the surface of everyday interactions and the importance of prioritizing personal safety.
