SM Prime Holdings has opened a new arena within its South Road Properties development in Cebu City, marking the next phase of the integrated project.
The P7‑billion SM Seaside Cebu Arena was presented to trade, industry and corporate partners on Thursday.
Company president Jeffrey C. Lim said the venue will attract additional Filipino and international performers to the Visayas, strengthening the region’s role in the live‑entertainment circuit.
The arena offers direct access to SM Seaside City Cebu, the forthcoming SMX Convention Center Seaside Cebu, and nearby Park Inn and Radisson hotels.
Lim highlighted that the investment is expected to generate economic opportunities for local entrepreneurs and surrounding communities.
Designed by Arquitectonica, the facility covers more than seven hectares of gross floor area and can seat up to 25,000 guests.
It features a center‑hung display system suitable for sports, concerts and other live events, as well as 30 Premier Suites above the VIP sections, each accommodating 13 to 31 guests with dedicated lounges, a café and a private entrance.
The arena’s inaugural event will be the BINI Signals World Tour on July 11, followed by performances from IV of Spades, TJ Monterde, KZ Tandingan, Hillsong Worship and LANY.
Lim described the arena as part of a long‑term vision for Cebu, providing a world‑class platform for large‑scale gatherings and encouraging longer stays by both local and foreign visitors.
