EPSTEIN NETWORK REACHES INTO CHILD SAFETY GROUP—THEY KNEW!

EPSTEIN NETWORK REACHES INTO CHILD SAFETY GROUP—THEY KNEW!

A shadow hangs over Common Sense Media, a prominent organization dedicated to children’s online safety. Recent revelations expose connections between multiple board members and the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, raising unsettling questions about vetting processes and judgment.

The organization, led by Jim Steyer – brother of California gubernatorial candidate Tom Steyer – is preparing to host a high-profile conference featuring figures like former Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Illinois Governor JB Pritzker. Yet, beneath the surface of advocacy lies a network of past associations with a convicted sex offender.

Tim Zagat, co-founder of the renowned Zagat Survey, frequently dined with Epstein and appears in the flight log of Epstein’s private jet, infamously known as the “Lolita Express.” Records show Zagat invited Epstein to meals on numerous occasions, and even shared a flight with other CSM board members.

Geraldine Laybourne, former president of Nickelodeon and a current CSM board member, was a passenger on a 2002 flight aboard Epstein’s jet. She maintains she was unaware of Epstein’s identity or the plane’s ownership, accepting a flight to a California conference without knowing its source.

The connections extend to the academic world. Howard Gardner, a Harvard scholar, engaged in extensive correspondence with Epstein even after the initial reports of his crimes surfaced. Hundreds of emails detail planned outings and intellectual discussions, raising concerns about continued engagement.

Adding another layer of complexity, Cyrus Vance Jr., former Manhattan District Attorney, joined the CSM board in 2024. His past decisions regarding Epstein’s case – specifically advocating for a lenient sentencing – have drawn significant criticism and scrutiny.

Court transcripts reveal the judge overseeing Epstein’s case was “overwhelmed” by Vance’s office’s request for a reduced sex offender classification, a move unprecedented in similar cases. Vance now claims he was unaware of Epstein’s prior conviction due to an error in the case file.

Even Chelsea Clinton, vice chair of the Clinton Foundation and a long-serving CSM board member, has a connection to the scandal. Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s accomplice, attended Clinton’s wedding at the invitation of a Clinton Foundation donor.

Reports suggest a deeper relationship between Clinton and Maxwell, though Clinton has consistently refuted claims of a close friendship, stating their connection ended when she learned of Maxwell’s alleged crimes. Her parents, Bill and Hillary Clinton, recently faced questioning from the House Oversight Committee regarding their own ties to Epstein and Maxwell.

The Gates Foundation, a partner of CSM, also presents a link. Bill Gates, chair of the foundation, admitted to “foolish” meetings with Epstein, believing they might aid his philanthropic efforts – a judgment he now deeply regrets. He is scheduled to testify before the House Oversight Committee in May.

While none of the board members are accused of wrongdoing related to Epstein’s crimes, the revelations raise serious questions about the standards and oversight within an organization dedicated to protecting children. The optics of these past associations demand a closer examination.
