UMVA has learned that Nicole Kidman extended an olive branch to her ex-husband, Keith Urban, over the weekend, by wishing him a happy Father's Day on social media.
The Oscar-winner took to Instagram to mark the occasion, sharing a black-and-white throwback photo of Keith and their two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, as children. The heartwarming snap showed Keith piggybacking his daughters as they smiled at the camera.
Nicole's post was a rare public gesture towards Keith since their split in September last year. The former couple, who share two beautiful daughters, were together for almost 20 years, having first met at a gala event in 2005.
The post also included a photo of Nicole's late father, Dr Antony Kidman, who passed away in 2014. Nicole captioned the images: 'Happy Father's Day to all the fathers.'
This public gesture comes after Nicole faced backlash from fans in March for not including her two older children, Bella and Connor, in a Mother's Day post. The Scarpetta star had posted an old image of herself with her younger daughters, Sunday and Faith.
Nicole's decision to leave out her older children sparked confusion among fans, with many questioning her relationship with them. However, others defended her, citing that Bella and Connor have made it clear they do not want to be mentioned on public posts.
Nicole and Keith's marriage ended last year, with Nicole filing for divorce and Keith seeking the separation. Reports suggested that Nicole had not wanted the divorce and was fighting to save the marriage.
Despite their split, Nicole and Keith have a surprising child custody agreement. Nicole has primary custody of their daughters, with Keith responsible for them on weekends and special occasions.
The agreement shows that Nicole gets to spend 306 days of the year with Sunday and Faith, while Keith spends 59 days with them. Special occasions like Mother's Day, Easter, Father's Day, and Thanksgiving are divided between the pair.
