UMVA Uncovers: BPI Wealth on FIRE - Insiders Reveal Plan to SUPERCHARGE 20% Trust Asset Growth Explosion!

UMVA has learned that BPI Wealth, a leading wealth management firm, is setting its sights on a remarkable 20% growth in assets under management (AUM) this year, driven by a bold strategy to expand access to global funds by offering them in peso denominations.

This ambitious target is built on a foundation of impressive growth, with BPI Wealth's AUM surging over 20% last year. According to Maria Theresa D. Marcial, President and Chief Executive Officer of BPI Wealth, the company sees "continuous growth in wealth levels across all segments" and is committed to making wealth management more inclusive.

BPI Wealth's trust assets reached P1.83 trillion last year, a 19.6% increase from P1.53 trillion in the previous year. This growth is a testament to the company's success in catering to the evolving needs of its clients.

In a bid to democratize wealth management, BPI Wealth has introduced two global investment funds available in peso denominations on its platform. The BPI World Tech Feeder Fund and the BPI Global Equity Fund of Funds are now accessible to investors with a minimum investment amount of P1,000, eliminating the need for currency conversion or platform hopping.

This strategic move opens up new opportunities for Filipino investors to tap into the growth potential of global industries. Marcial emphasized that BPI Wealth is committed to making more global equity funds accessible to Filipinos, allowing them to maximize their financial potential.

The company's investment team is also exploring the possibility of launching peso-denominated share classes for its other global funds, including a sustainable suite of funds. This move is expected to further expand investment opportunities for Filipino investors.

According to BPI Wealth's experts, the ongoing market volatility presents growth opportunities for investors, particularly those looking to diversify globally. By offering peso-denominated global funds, BPI Wealth aims to empower retail clients to capitalize on these opportunities without the need for currency conversion.

BPI's strong financial performance is reflected in its net income, which rose by 1.7% to P16.92 billion in the first quarter. The company's shares also saw a significant increase, rising by P1.40 or 1.43% to end at P99.50 each.
