Former Gladiators star Giant, whose real name is Jamie Bigg, has addressed his replacement following the show's decision to drop him ahead of the new season.
Bigg, a fan favourite since the 2024 reboot, was removed earlier this year after the production cited his former girlfriend’s presence on a paid subscription platform as a factor in the decision.
The role has been filled by 6‑foot‑4‑inch World’s Strongest Man champion Tom Stoltman, who has described the opportunity as a dream and a new challenge.

Bigg publicly expressed his support for Stoltman, wishing him success and highlighting the newcomer’s positive character and potential to enhance the lineup.
In interviews, Bigg said he was disappointed by the abrupt dismissal, noting that he had expected a different response and that his personal relationships were irrelevant to the show’s decisions.
Viewers reacted strongly, expressing that Bigg had been their favourite and feeling let down by the outcome.

Although Bigg will not return to Gladiators, he has hinted at upcoming television projects and a willingness to tackle more controversial topics.
He added that several projects are in development, though details remain undisclosed at this time.
