A Ryanair passenger was partially sucked out of a window on Friday morning after a window on the plane dislodged shortly after takeoff.
The incident occurred on a flight from Thessaloniki, Greece to Germany when a 61-year-old passenger in the window seat was partially sucked out of the plane.
Passengers had to intervene to pull the man back into the plane, with his wife holding his feet to prevent him from being completely sucked out.
The passenger is currently hospitalized and receiving treatment for his injuries.
Oxygen masks dropped down in the cabin as the plane returned to Greece and safely landed, with an emergency declared due to the incident.
A senior Greek aviation official stated that the Ryanair Boeing 737 suffered an uncontained engine failure, resulting in parts from the engine hitting the plane and damaging the fuselage.
The damage caused by the engine failure also led to the passenger window breaking, allowing the passenger to be partially sucked out.
The plane landed normally, and passengers returned to the terminal after the incident, according to Ryanair.
The passenger's condition is currently unknown, but the incident has raised concerns about the safety of Ryanair flights.
