She was a mother, a woman scorned—and a methodical killer who played out her vengeance like a chess match. Taylor Santiago didn't just want revenge; she wanted total annihilation. Over two bloody days, she ended two lives and shattered several more.
On Monday, the Missouri woman stood before an Arkansas judge and pleaded guilty to capital murder and attempted capital murder. Her target: Nathan Green, the father of her daughter, and his new girlfriend, Sophia Williams. Green survived a bullet to the cheek. Williams did not. Santiago now faces life in prison, plus an additional 40 years.
But this wasn't her first strike. Just 24 hours earlier, she had executed her ex-husband Troy Huffman in cold blood. Her own son was in the room.
On Jan. 22, 2025, Santiago lured Huffman to her apartment under the pretense of letting him see their son. She told the boy she was going to "take care of the bad guys" and instructed him to cover his ears. Then, with a .38 revolver hidden behind her back, she walked into the living room and pulled the trigger.
She didn't stop there. Santiago stole Huffman's Mercedes and drove 80 kilometers to Green's home in Arkansas. Just after midnight on Jan. 23, deputies found Williams' body in a back bedroom. Four children under the age of 10 were inside—one of them witnessed the horror firsthand.
After the attack, Santiago fled back to Missouri. But something pulled her toward confession. Around 2 a.m., she called 911 from a police facility parking lot and admitted everything: killing Huffman, shooting Green, ending Williams' life. Officers found Huffman's body in her apartment. She was taken into custody without resistance.
Investigators believe the murders stemmed from bitter custody battles. Santiago herself seemed to accept no other outcome. During interrogation, she described herself as a "disgusting, evil murderer" and told detectives that "death or jail forever" were the only fitting punishments.
Why she turned herself in remains a mystery. One detective admitted he didn't know the answer—only that he wished she had come forward before the bloodshed. But Santiago made her choice, and the pieces fell where they did. Game. Set. Match.
