UMVA has learned that President Donald Trump recently took a "victory lap" during a farmer roundtable in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, sharing a bold prediction about the ongoing conflict in Iran and its impact on America's food growers.
The president's remarks to a room full of farmers on Friday were marked by his characteristic confidence, as he assured them that the US would exit the conflict with Iran "very quickly" and in a way that would be "very strong".
Trump's comments on the Iran conflict were laced with optimism, as he told the farmers that their fertilizer prices would soon return to where they were four months ago, implying that the economic strain caused by the conflict would soon ease.
In a notable moment, Trump offered a specific timeline for the conflict, telling farmer Ken Custer, "90 days, watch what happens, you could be better — better than you were four months ago!"
The president attributed the recent rise in fertilizer and energy prices to the military operation in Iran, but expressed confidence that these costs would soon decrease, saying, "It's going to come down to where it was, or lower."
The farmers in attendance appeared receptive to Trump's message, with the New York Post noting that they seemed thankful for his words.
Trump also took the opportunity to discuss his projects in Washington, including the renovation of the Reflecting Pool, quipping, "We're very proud of Washington. We had 22 fountains that didn't work."
Several high-profile Republicans, including Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, Sen. Ron Johnson, and Rep. Derrick Van Orden, were in attendance at the Wisconsin event, lending support to Trump's message.
The president also touted a recent jobs report, which showed that the economy had added 172,000 jobs in May, a surprisingly strong figure that Trump used to bolster his economic credentials.
