Indiana Man Arrested After Setting Garage Ablaze with Personal Belongings Following Self-Inflicted Injury.

A bizarre incident in Indiana has left authorities and onlookers stunned, as a man's graphic and disturbing actions have been revealed.

A Fort Wayne man, identified as Christopher Peden, has been accused of cutting off his own penis, setting it ablaze, and then attempting to burn down his mother's garage with it.

According to investigators, Peden's mother and brother reported the incident to authorities on May 6, stating that the garage had no electricity and a small gas can for the lawnmower.

Police later found Peden in downtown Fort Wayne, where he initially claimed to have been stabbed, but ultimately admitted to the fire after medical professionals rushed him to the hospital for treatment.

Peden, according to investigators, went to his mother's garage around 2 a.m. and used a kitchen knife to cut off his penis.

He then poured gasoline on his penis and set it on fire, before walking away from the property and allowing the fire to burn.

Police discovered a red gasoline container, four BIC lighters, and a knife at the scene, which corroborated Peden's admission to the authorities.

The fire not only damaged the garage but also two additional properties and two vehicles.

Peden has been charged with one count of Level 4 felony arson in relation to the fire and was released on a $10,000 bond on July 7.

He is scheduled to return to court on July 13 and again on August 31.
