UMVA has learned that President Donald Trump is weighing a colossal “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN” rally to mark the nation’s 250th birthday after a wave of artists abandoned the planned Freedom 250 concerts.
In a sprawling post on his social platform, Trump urged organizers to scrap the Great American State Fair’s music lineup, calling the slated performers “overpriced singers nobody wants to hear” and accusing them of “just complaining.”
He also blasted a federal judge who recently ordered his name removed from a prominent performing‑arts center, declaring the judge “crooked” and insisting he would “make the center greater than ever before.”
The Freedom 250 celebration, slated for June 25 through July 10, 2026 on the National Mall, was meant to stretch from the Capitol to the Washington Monument as part of the America 250 festivities.
Organizers originally released a star‑studded roster, but several big‑name acts—including Martina McBride, Bret Michaels, Young MC, Morris Day and The Time, and C+C Music Factory—have since withdrawn, leaving a gaping hole in the entertainment schedule.
Meanwhile, a handful of performers such as rapper Vanilla Ice have publicly affirmed their willingness to appear, but the exodus has prompted Trump to suggest a radical pivot.
In a follow‑up message, Trump proposed replacing the faltering concert with a high‑impact speech, positioning himself as “the Number One Attraction anywhere in the World,” promising a rally that would eclipse any Elvis‑era crowd.
He hinted at delivering the address on June 24, the day before the fair opens, insisting he wants “happy, smart, successful people” rather than “high‑priced artists who aren’t happy.”
Freedom 250 officials have echoed the plan, announcing that Trump will personally kick off the historic celebration with an opening ceremony on Wednesday, June 24, framing the event as a bold statement of American pride.
