HARRY BETRAYED DIANA'S LEGACY: Charity SUES!

HARRY BETRAYED DIANA'S LEGACY: Charity SUES!

A stunning legal twist has emerged involving Prince Harry and the charity he co-founded, Sentebale. The organization, established in 2006 as a living memorial to Princess Diana, has initiated a defamation lawsuit against the Duke himself.

Sentebale, dedicated to supporting young people impacted by HIV and AIDS in Lesotho and Botswana, filed the claim on March 29th. The lawsuit also names Mark Dyer, a former trustee, alleging defamation through libel and slander.

The legal action follows Harry’s departure from the charity in March 2025, a move precipitated by a deeply fractured relationship with the board. A joint statement from Harry and co-founder Prince Seeiso described a breakdown that created an “untenable situation.”

Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex departs from a court case against Associated Newspapers Ltd at The Royal Courts of Justice on January 21, 2026 in London, England.

At the heart of the dispute was a disagreement over the leadership of Sophie Chandauka, the chairwoman. Harry and Seeiso asserted that trustees acted in the charity’s best interest by requesting her resignation, prioritizing staff wellbeing. Chandauka, however, fiercely contested this, launching legal action to retain her voluntary position.

Chandauka subsequently leveled serious accusations against Prince Harry, alleging that his Netflix polo show interfered with crucial fundraising efforts. She further claimed a separate incident involving his wife, Meghan Markle, fueled the growing tension.

Perhaps most damagingly, Chandauka accused Harry of “harassment and bullying at scale,” alleging the “Sussex PR machine” was deliberately unleashed against her. These accusations ignited a public firestorm, drawing scrutiny from a U.K. charity watchdog.

While the watchdog cleared Harry of bullying allegations, it sharply criticized all parties involved for allowing the internal conflict to escalate into a public spectacle. The Commission noted the controversy had severely damaged Sentebale’s reputation.

Sentebale publicly welcomed the investigation’s findings, but a spokesperson for Prince Harry expressed deep dissatisfaction, stating the probe “falls troublingly short.” The core concern, they emphasized, was the impact on the vulnerable children the charity serves.

The spokesperson argued that the consequences of Chandauka’s actions would be felt by those who rely on Sentebale’s support, not by her personally. Harry, they stated, remains committed to finding new avenues to aid children in Lesotho and Botswana.

The unfolding legal battle represents a significant challenge for both Prince Harry and Sentebale, casting a shadow over the legacy of a charity founded in the name of compassion and remembrance. The case promises to reveal further details about the internal dynamics and the events that led to this extraordinary legal confrontation.
