IRAN ATTACKED! US NAVY STRIKES BACK – WAR ERUPTS?

Tensions in the Persian Gulf reached a fever pitch as the U.S. military announced the opening of a passage through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital artery for global energy supplies. This move directly challenged Iran’s attempts to control the waterway, escalating a fragile ceasefire into a dangerous confrontation.

The situation rapidly deteriorated Monday, with reports of direct attacks. U.S. officials confirmed their forces neutralized six Iranian small boats that were actively targeting civilian vessels within the Strait. American military helicopters intervened decisively, sinking the boats and thwarting a potential escalation of hostilities.

Simultaneously, the United Arab Emirates experienced its first direct attack from Iran since the ceasefire began in early April. Multiple missiles and drones were launched, with Emirati defenses successfully intercepting three, while another impacted the sea. A key oil facility in Fujairah was also struck by an Iranian drone, igniting a fire.

Adding to the chaos, two cargo vessels were reported ablaze off the UAE coast, painting a picture of widespread disruption and escalating aggression. The U.S. military, under the command of Adm. Brad Cooper, asserted complete control, stating that “each and every” threat had been defeated.

President Trump issued a stark warning Sunday, declaring that any further Iranian interference with passage through the strait “will, unfortunately, have to be dealt with forcefully.” This declaration underscored the seriousness of the situation and the potential for a wider conflict.

Iran responded with defiance, demanding that all ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz coordinate with their military. A senior Iranian commander warned that any foreign military force, particularly the U.S., attempting to approach or enter the strait would be targeted.

The attacks on Fujairah, a crucial oil storage hub and the UAE’s primary sea access, threatened to further constrict global energy supplies. Disruption of this vital waterway is already squeezing nations in Europe and Asia, driving up prices worldwide.

The U.S. has cautioned shipping companies against paying Iran for transit through the strait, warning of potential sanctions. Meanwhile, American destroyers are actively working to restore traffic flow, guiding commercial vessels safely through the contested waters under “Project Freedom.”

This initiative, framed as a humanitarian effort to aid stranded seafarers aboard tankers and cargo ships, comes as crews report witnessing drones and missiles exploding nearby, facing dwindling supplies of essential resources. The situation is increasingly desperate for those caught in the crossfire.

Iran presented a 14-point proposal for ending the conflict, demanding the lifting of sanctions, a U.S. military withdrawal from the region, and a cessation of hostilities, including Israel’s operations in Lebanon. However, Iranian officials expressed frustration with perceived shifting demands from the U.S., hindering diplomatic progress.

An unidentified projectile struck a tanker off the coast of the UAE, though all crew members were reported safe. Separately, Pakistan facilitated the transfer of 22 crew members from an Iranian vessel seized by the U.S., a move intended to foster confidence and potentially revive negotiations.

The seized Iranian container ship, MV Touska, will undergo repairs in Pakistani waters before being returned to its owners, with the cooperation of both Iran and the U.S. Despite these efforts, the path to de-escalation remains uncertain, and the Persian Gulf stands on the brink of a wider conflict.
