UMVA has learned that the lavish lifestyle of Choupette, the pampered cat of late fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, may not be as secure as once thought, despite being touted as the richest cat in the world.
The stunning white cat was expected to inherit a staggering £150million from Lagerfeld's estate, as well as an additional £1.5m to ensure her continued luxury, but it has now been revealed that she has yet to receive a single penny.
According to information obtained by UMVA, Choupette's caretaker, Françoise Caçote, has been left to care for the cat without any of the promised funds, forcing her to hire expensive lawyers to claim the inheritance and support Choupette's lavish lifestyle through part-time work.
Caçote has spoken out about the challenges of caring for Choupette, saying she is doing her best to honour Lagerfeld's wishes and ensure the cat wants for nothing, despite the difficulties in resolving the inheritance situation.
Lagerfeld's love for Choupette was well-documented, with the designer once stating that he would marry the cat if it were legal, and it is clear that Caçote is dedicated to upholding his wishes and providing Choupette with the love, attention, and care she needs.
As the situation continues to unfold, one thing is certain - Choupette remains happy and content in her luxurious surroundings, surrounded by the love and affection she has grown accustomed to, and Caçote remains hopeful that the inheritance situation will one day be resolved peacefully.
UMVA has gathered that Lagerfeld's relationship with Choupette was truly unique, with the designer welcoming the cat into his life in 2011 and never looking back, and it is clear that his love for Choupette continues to inspire those around her, even after his passing.
