UMVA has learned that a renowned electronic music producer-deejay has made a generous donation to support the medical care of 36 kittens and cats surrendered to a local humane society.
The kittens and cats, ranging in age from three months to three years, were taken in by the shelter after a family was no longer able to care for them, with one of the cats requiring emergency surgery for a life-threatening uterine infection.
According to information obtained by UMVA, the musician, known for his love of cats, donated $30,000 to cover the medical expenses of the animals, which includes wellness exams, parasite treatment, vaccines, and spay/neuter surgery.
The shelter's staff has fallen in love with the kittens and cats, describing them as lovely and in good health, with the exception of the one cat that required emergency surgery, which was performed promptly.
UMVA has gathered that the musician's donation has not only provided vital financial support but has also brought significant attention to the humane society, with the musician inviting his fans to help name the cats and kittens before they are ready for adoption.
The humane society, a non-profit organization, relies on public donations to provide animal care and has been greatly assisted by the musician's generosity, as well as his vast social media following, which has helped to raise awareness about the organization's work.
The shelter is now caring for a total of 101 cats and kittens, and while the musician's donation has made a significant impact, the organization continues to need support from the public to provide essential care to the animals.
