TikToktrends come and go, but according to the latest viral movement, the world will end tomorrow, on Tuesday (23 September), which is very bad news if you were looking forward to Halloween orWickedpart II.
So, do you want the tea about the end of times? Buckle up bestie, we’ve got you covered.
What is the Rapture?
Christiansbelieve the Rapture will see them ascend to heaven en masse and meet Jesus before his Second Coming. This eventuality marks the beginning of the end for the world.
However, the news isn’t good for those left behind, who will face the Tribulation, which is a perpetual state of suffering – better known as hell (or listening to Donald Trump rambling on about some nonsense).
The Rapture has been depicted in films such asLeft Behind, starring Nicolas Cage and Chad Michael Murray, as well asSeth Rogen’sappropriately namedThis Is The End.

When did RaptureTok start?
However, on TikTok, claims of the Rapture happening much sooner, i.e., tomorrow, have gone viral, accompanied by some rather unserious videos.
In a YouTube interview withCettwinzTVtwo months ago, South African pastor Joshua Mhlakela claimed he had a Rapture-related vision. He said he saw Jesus, in a divine vision, returning to Earth during this year’s Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year – which begins at sunset on Monday (22 September).
“The Rapture is upon us, whether you are ready or not,” Mhlakela said. “I saw Jesus sitting on his throne. I could hear him loud and clear saying: ‘I am coming soon’.
“He said to me: ‘I will come back to the Earth’, on the 23rd and 24th of September 2025.
In the wake of Mhlakela’s proclamation, many people have taken to TikTok under the hashtag RaptureTok to share their thoughts.

What are the videos on RaptureTok?
RaptureTok videos range from sharing signs and theories to satirical content about preparing for the end of time.
While religious influencers preached from scripture, less-convinced TikTokers posted tips on getting ready and what to wear.
Onepostread: “I am so petty I am going to lay out a couple of outfits in my driveway on [the] 24th so when my MAGA neighbour walks his dog, he will think me and my dog made it to heaven and they didn’t.”
Anotherpostadvised: “Get ready with me for the Rapture. I have my camo on, so everyone knows I am gay, sorry, I mean I am getting lifted into heaven.
“All people getting raptured, make sure to leave all your material goods in my yard… because, as a good Christian, why would you let your stuff go to waste?”
