Jonathan Ross says he ‘didn’t actually enjoy’ his time on The Celebrity Traitors

The Celebrity Traitorsstar has admitted he Jonathan Ross “didn’t actually enjoy” his time on the hit BBC series, calling the experience “uncomfortable.”

The TV host is crrently appearing on the first celebrity version of the popular reality competition alongside the likes of Alan Carr,Tom Daley, Kate Garraway, andClare Balding. The latter, as well asCarrandDaley, areamong the LGBTQ+ stars taking part.

In the latest episode of his podcast,Reel Talk, with his daughter, Honey, Ross discussed his experience on the show.

The presenter said friends of his had already been approached for a second series, indicating that the BBC already consider the first a success.

“I’ve had two celebrity friends of mine call me saying: ‘I’ve been approached, what do you think about it? Is it good to do, is it bad to do?'” Ross shared. “So, I’m giving them the benefit of my experience… which, as you know, I didn’t actually enjoy it.”

So far in the series, Ross has appeared to revel in his role as a Traitor as well as the experience as a whole.

When Honey says her father “found it really challenging and really difficult,” Ross said he found being a Traitor “really wearing.” He added, “the lying of it genuinely made me feel increasingly uncomfortable.”

Ross went on to say he felt “on guard” the whole time, even when the cast was being driven to filming first thing each morning. “You’re on the defence all the time,” he said.

Elsewhere Ross called his fellow Traitor Carr“the star of the show”, without giving away any spoilers for how long either lasted. It’s an opinion shared by many in the general public, who loved Carr in the series’ first two episodes.

Ross also called for a “a director’s cut Alan Carr special” because of the “many funny things [Carr] did and said.”

“There’s something that happens later on that I know, which should be in but isn’t in. There’s this gold, Alan Carr gold, waiting out there to be spun. So maybe the BBC will consider, ask Alan, maybe they could put Alan’s Unseen Highlights together.”

The Celebrity Traitors airs at 9pm on BBC1 and the iPlayer on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
