
A 46-year-old man – already under a court order mot to possess firearms – was allegedly caught with a gun and illegal drugs in North York last week.
Toronto Police say officers were conducting community safety patrols in the area of Jane St. and Shoreham Dr. – south of Steeles Ave. W. – on Thursday when they spotted a man who was “wanted.”
“Officers attempted to stop the accused, when the accused fled on foot,” police allege. “Officers caught up to the accused, and placed him under arrest.”
The wanted man was allegedly in possession of a handgun, a loaded magazine and a quantity of illegal drugs.

“As a result, members of 31 Division Major Crime Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act search warrant in the area of Jane St. and Shoreham Dr.,” police said. “It is further alleged that a quantity of Schedule I Substance, a quantity of ammunition and drug paraphernalia (were) located.”
Neal Douglas, of Toronto, is charged with failing to attend court/undertaking; possession of a firearm without Holding a license; unlicensed person possession of a prohibited/restricted weapon; possession of a firearm other than restricted or prohibited firearm knowingly not holding a license; possession of a prohibited/restricted weapon or prohibited device knowing no authority; use/handle/store a firearm carelessly; possession of an unloaded regulation firearm; use/handle/store ammunition carelessly; possession of proceeds of property or thing obtained by crime not exceeding $5000; two counts of possession of a firearm while prohibited; five counts of possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking; and careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition.
