President Trump on Tuesday humiliated GOP Senator Rand Paul (KY) while speaking to a group of Republican Senators at the White House.
Trump gathered Republican lawmakers at the newly renovated White House Rose Garden on Tuesday as the government shutdown enters its fourth week since Democrats killed a funding proposal on October 1.
Democrats are holding government funding hostage for their radical demands, including taxpayer-funded health care benefits for illegal aliens.
Trump, during his address, touted his success in the first nine months of his second term, lambasted the Democratic Party for extorting Americans, and called for the Senate to pass the continuing resolution to reopen the government.
Trump also took aim at the Republican Senator from Kentucky, who has feuded with the President on several occasions, from issues relating to spending and the Big Beautiful Bill to, most recently, Trump’s use of military force against Venezuelan drug cartels.
The President noted that “everybody” came to his Rose Garden lunch, except for one person. “You’ll never guess who that is,” he joked, causing the crowd to burst into laughter.
Trump further slammed Paul for “no on everything,” adding, “He thinks it’s good politics. It’s really not good politics.”
He then conceded that he would probably allow Paul to come to the White House, albeit “begrudgingly.”
