Woman dies of ‘heart attack’ on Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion ride

A woman in her 60s suffered a suspected heart attack on the Haunted Mansion ride atDisneylandinCaliforniaand later died.


Emergency services were called around 6.30pm on Monday reports the woman was unresponsive in a two-person cart, known as a doom buggy, at the end of the ride,The Orange County Register reported.


Members of Disneyland’s security team carried out CPR until paramedics arrived, according to Sergeant Matt Sutter with the Anaheim Police Department.


She was taken to a local hospital and was later pronounced dead, he added.


A coroner will determine the cause of death, Sutter said. 


The Orange County Register initially reported that the woman died of a suspected heart attack. 


Her name, exact age or details of where she is from have not yet been released.

Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion opened in 1969 and is a low-speed ride that ‘contains some mildly frightening scenes’ but no gore, according to the theme park’s website.


There are Haunted Mansion rides at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom park in Orlando,Florida, as well as TokyoDisneyland and DisneylandParis.


Last month 32-year-old wheelchair user Kevin Rodriguez Zavala was killed on Universal Orlando’s new 62mph rollercoaster, the Stardust Racers.


It’s unclear what caused the trauma, and police continue to investigate, but the lawyer representing Mr Zavala’s family claim several people have come forward to say they had been injured on the ride since it opened in May, theDaily Mailreports.
