Elliot Anderson targeted by three Premier League heavyweights at hefty asking price

Nottingham Forestare expecting to field plenty of interest in midfielderElliot Anderson, with threePremier Leagueheavyweights keen on him.

The 22-year-old has earned rave reviews since joining Forest fromNewcastlelast year in a £35m deal.

He was part of the England squad thatwon the Under-21 European Championshipover the summer and has now won four caps for the senior side.

Thomas Tuchelis clearly a fan and there now seems every chance that Anderson will not just be in the squad for next summer’sWorld Cup, but could be in the starting XI for the Three Lions.

After a stunning season last time around which saw them return to European competition, it has been chaos at Nottingham Forest in recent months.

Nuno Espirito Santo left as manager despite his fine work over the last campaign, replaced byAnge Postecoglou, who has since been replaced bySean Dyche.

Now the Tricky Trees will see big clubs come calling for one of their star players as the race is on for Anderson.

The Mirrorreport that Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City all hold an interest in the former Newcastle player.

Nottingham Forest do not want to sell, but a move seems inevitable given the clubs that are interested, with Forest slapping a price tag of £75m on Anderson.

The midfielder signed a five-year contract when he arrived at the City Ground, so that deal runs until 2029.

England boss Tuchel was full of praise for Anderson over the recent international break, talking him upafter the 2-0 win over Andorra.

‘He’s just a very, very good football player,’ Tuchel said. ‘He has the physicality, he’s very mobile at No 6.

‘He has the body, he loves to defend, he loves to put his body inside to duels. He loves passing, he loves to break the lines, he’s very mobile in this game. It was a pleasure to see.

‘I think the team around him made it as easy as possible for him and he had a very strong performance. I think he showed today that he adapts to the situation.

‘Can he show what he showed in training? Can he show what he showed with Nottingham and the under-21s? He played with a lot of freedom. He was very quickly in the flow. I think he has the physicality and he has the mindset to play in more difficult games.’

The all-action midfielder told theTelegraphover the summer: ‘My biggest aim this season is to add some numbers [goals and assists] to my performances, that will probably take me to the next level.’
