A 53-year-old man is accused of soliciting sex from a minor online and sexually assaulting that person after meeting up in Richmond Hill.
York Regional Police claim the accused contacted the minor through a website on Sept. 12 for the purpose of obtaining sexual services.
The man allegedly met the minor in the area of Lake Wilcox – near Bayview Ave. and Bethesda Side Rd. – and sexually assaulted them, police said in a statement released Wednesday.
The age and gender of the alleged victim have not been released.
Derek Wayne Brown, of Toronto, is charged with one count each of sexual assault and obtaining sexual services for consideration.
Investigators released an image of the accused out of concern for the possibility of other alleged victims.
Brown used the alias “Tyler” and is known on social media as “@donttnoone,” police allege.
