PONTYPOOL, Ont. — Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash in the Kawartha Lakes area.


Police say officers responded to a report of an ejected motorcyclist on the southbound lane of Highway 115 near Porter Road, east of Pontypool in the City of Kawartha Lakes on Saturday afternoon.


They say the 39-year-old woman driving the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.


Police say the officers from the Peterborough County OPP detachment and OPP Time Incident Management Enforcement Team are continuing with the investigation.


A section of the Highway 115 southbound lane was closed for several hours, but has since reopened.


Anyone with information or video footage of the crash is asked to contact police.
