BRAGG SILENCE ON TRUMP: What Is He HIDING?!

BRAGG SILENCE ON TRUMP: What Is He HIDING?!

The echoes of a landmark case are strangely absent from Alvin Bragg’s current campaign for re-election. Just over a year ago, the Manhattan District Attorney secured a conviction against a former president, a moment that reverberated across the nation and dominated headlines. Now, as he seeks another term, that victory is rarely mentioned.

During a recent campaign event, a supporter offered congratulations on the Trump prosecution, but Bragg remained silent. This pattern continued at a public debate, where Bragg meticulously detailed high-profile cases he’d overseen – former mayors, a Senate leader, even an FBI agent – conspicuously omitting the most talked-about case of his tenure. The omission didn’t go unnoticed.

A debate moderator pointedly noted the absence, and a Republican challenger directly accused Bragg of deliberately avoiding the subject. Bragg responded by emphasizing his impartiality, stating he’d prosecuted individuals “without regard to their political party.” Yet, the shadow of the Trump case loomed large, a silent presence in the room.

The case itself centered on allegations that Donald Trump falsified business records to conceal a $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels, a payment intended to silence claims of an alleged affair prior to the 2016 election. Trump vehemently denied the allegations, branding the prosecution a politically motivated “witch hunt” and a desperate attempt to derail his re-election bid.

He questioned why federal authorities hadn’t pursued the case, highlighting that the Federal Election Commission had previously dropped a similar investigation. Trump’s legal team has formally appealed the conviction, arguing the charges were “unprecedented” and brought forth within a highly charged political environment.

Despite the ongoing appeal, Bragg initially celebrated the guilty verdict as a testament to his office’s commitment to upholding the law. He asserted they had simply “followed the facts and the law without fear or favor.” Now, however, he deflects questions about the case, citing the ongoing legal proceedings and restrictions on public comment.

When pressed by reporters, Bragg simply referred them to his legal filings and previous statements. This strategic silence raises questions about the political calculations behind distancing himself from a case that once defined his tenure, a case that continues to shape the national conversation.

The judge ultimately sentenced Trump to unconditional discharge in January 2025, days before his second inauguration. The entire saga, from initial investigation to final verdict and appeal, has unfolded against the backdrop of a fiercely contested presidential election, leaving an indelible mark on American politics.
