The skies above the Philippines just got a little more spacious. A brand new Airbus A330neo, the 13th of its kind for the nation’s leading budget airline, has touched down, signaling a significant expansion in travel capacity for key domestic routes.
This isn’t just about adding another plane to the fleet; it’s a statement of intent. The airline’s leadership emphasizes a dedication to connecting more people across the region, all while maintaining a commitment to affordable travel – a cornerstone of their service.
The newly arrived aircraft boasts an impressive 459-seat capacity and will immediately bolster service between Manila and Puerto Princesa, launching with four weekly flights on November 2nd. Shortly after, on November 16th, it will begin daily flights connecting Manila and Bohol.
The A330neo represents the cutting edge of widebody jet technology, engineered for remarkable fuel efficiency and designed to operate seamlessly with sustainable aviation fuels. This aligns with a growing industry-wide push for environmentally conscious air travel.
The arrival of this larger aircraft in Puerto Princesa isn’t merely a logistical upgrade; it’s a recognition of the advancements made by regional airports. Officials highlight the improved readiness and operational standards now in place, capable of handling these modern, larger planes.
Looking ahead, the airline is also securing additional aircraft. A lease agreement with Bulgaria Air will bring two Airbus A320ceo planes into service between Manila, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, and Cagayan de Oro starting in December 2025, further solidifying their domestic network.
Currently, the airline connects travelers to a vast network of destinations, spanning 37 locations within the Philippines and extending to 26 international cities across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East. This expansion promises even greater accessibility for both local and international adventurers.
