Estrada SILENCED: Court SHUTS DOWN Last-Ditch Effort!

Senator Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada’s attempt to silence a former Public Works engineer has hit a roadblock. A regional trial court in San Juan recently denied his request for a temporary restraining order, allowing the engineer’s accusations of kickbacks to stand.

The core of the dispute centers around allegations linking Estrada to illicit funds from questionable flood control projects. Former engineer Brice Ericson Hernandez publicly leveled these accusations during televised legislative hearings, sparking a firestorm of media attention.

Judge Caron Aicitel E. Lascano-Nethercott reasoned that a restraining order would be ineffective, as Hernandez’s statements had already permeated public discourse through news outlets and social media platforms. The damage, in the court’s view, was already done.

Crucially, the court highlighted that the alleged wrongdoing – the making of the statements – had already occurred within the context of official, public proceedings. The hearings themselves were, in part, delayed at Estrada’s own request, further diminishing the argument for immediate intervention.

However, the court was careful to clarify its position. It explicitly stated that Hernandez remains free to testify before Congress, underscoring a commitment to the legislative branch’s power to conduct inquiries. This decision reflects a delicate balance between protecting individual rights and upholding the principles of legislative oversight.

Judge Lascano-Nethercott issued a stern warning to both sides, emphasizing that any further public commentary on the case outside of official court or legislative proceedings would be subject to scrutiny. Attempts to sway public opinion or prejudice the outcome are strictly prohibited.

The legal battle is far from over. A hearing is scheduled for November 12th to address Estrada’s request for a preliminary injunction, a more permanent restriction on Hernandez’s ability to speak publicly about the allegations.

Estrada, publicly acknowledging the court’s decision, affirmed his respect for the judicial process and his faith in the rule of law. His office stated that the courtroom, not the media, is the appropriate venue for resolving disputes and defending his reputation.

Despite the setback, Estrada intends to vigorously pursue all available legal avenues against those he believes have defamed him or violated his rights. He expressed unwavering confidence that the truth will ultimately emerge through a fair and impartial legal process.
