Ricky's NIGHTMARE: Trailer Park Boys Star FACES Sex Assault Allegations!

Mike Smith, the actor celebrated for his portrayal of Bubbles in the beloved Canadian comedy seriesTrailer Park Boys, appeared in a Halifax court Monday facing a serious allegation. The 53-year-old was formally arraigned on a charge of sexual assault, a development that has sent ripples through the show’s dedicated fanbase.

Smith appeared in court represented by his lawyer, Stan MacDonald, who addressed reporters briefly outside the courtroom. MacDonald emphasized the preliminary nature of the accusation, stating firmly that it remains unproven and will be determined through the legal process, not public speculation. He also pleaded for respect for the privacy of all parties involved.

The charge stems from an incident alleged to have occurred in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, in December 2017. Smith was officially charged on October 2nd, but details of the alleged assault have not yet been publicly released. Court documents reveal a condition imposed on Smith: he is prohibited from any communication with, or visits to, the alleged victim’s home, workplace, or school.

Actor Mike Smith, who plays Bubbles on the Trailer Park Boys, was arraigned on Monday, Nov. 10, 2025, in a Halifax provincial court on a sexual assault charge.

A publication ban has been issued by the court, specifically designed to protect the identity of the complainant. This measure underscores the sensitivity of the case and the legal system’s commitment to safeguarding those involved. Currently, no plea has been entered as the defense team continues to review the evidence presented by the prosecution.

Crown prosecutor Nicole Ford explained that delays between an incident and formal charges are not uncommon in cases of sexual assault. She highlighted the absence of statutes of limitations for such offenses, allowing investigations and prosecutions to proceed regardless of the time elapsed. This reflects a growing societal commitment to addressing historical allegations.

In response to the charges, Smith has temporarily stepped away from his role within Trailer Park Boys Incorporated, the Nova Scotia-based company where he serves as one of three directors, alongside John Paul Tremblay and Robert Wells, the actors who portray Julian and Ricky respectively. The company acknowledged the seriousness of the allegations in a statement.

The news arrives as the show’s loyal fans eagerly anticipate the 13th season, recently completed filming to commemorate the series’ 25th anniversary. Despite the unfolding legal situation, the company has affirmed its dedication to delivering the new season to its audience.

Prosecutor Ford stressed that the legal process will be applied equally to all individuals, regardless of their public profile. She affirmed that no special consideration will be given to Smith based on his celebrity status, ensuring a fair and impartial investigation and prosecution.

This is not the first time Smith has faced legal scrutiny. In April 2016, he was arrested in Los Angeles on a battery charge following an incident at a Hollywood hotel. However, that charge was ultimately dropped a month later due to insufficient evidence, with Smith maintaining his innocence and describing the incident as a heated dispute with a friend.

Smith is scheduled to return to court on December 3rd, at which time he is expected to formally enter a plea regarding the current sexual assault charge. The coming weeks will be crucial as the legal proceedings unfold and the truth behind these serious allegations is sought.
