A Saturday evening in Chicago’s Little Village descended into tragedy as a brazen robbery turned fatal, claiming the lives of a father and son.
Police reports indicate an unidentified man entered a jewelry store at approximately 5:49 p.m., swiftly stealing merchandise before fleeing into the street.
The situation escalated rapidly as a physical confrontation erupted outside the store, culminating in the suspect discharging a firearm twice.
Both victims, struck by the gunfire, suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency services rushed them to Mount Sinai Hospital, but their injuries proved too severe.
Faustino Alamo, 63, sustained devastating wounds to his head, body, and face, ultimately succumbing to his injuries at the hospital.
His son, Luis Alamo, 25, also suffered critical injuries from multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai.
Investigators are currently searching for the suspect, who was last seen escaping the scene in a white SUV.
The community is reeling from the senseless violence, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
A reward of $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the individual responsible for this devastating crime.
