HOLLYWOOD'S SHAME: The Oct 7 Cover-Up EXPLODED!

HOLLYWOOD'S SHAME: The Oct 7 Cover-Up EXPLODED!

For decades, my work in film and television has been defined by collaboration with people from every imaginable background. This wasn’t a calculated strategy, but a reflection of how I genuinely saw the world – long before the current cultural conversations began.

Everything shifted on October 8th, 2023, the day following the devastating attacks in Israel. A silence descended where there had once been a chorus of voices. The usual calls – checking on my well-being, inquiring about family, offering support – simply stopped coming from the diverse community I’d built over a lifetime.

Instead, I encountered a troubling ambiguity. Social media feeds filled with hesitant phrases like “trying to understand” and “it’s complicated.” How could there be complexity in the face of such brutal violence – the invasion of homes, the horrific rapes, the cold-blooded murders, and the abduction of innocent people?

The silence wasn’t the worst of it. Many actively denied the atrocities, and some even attempted to justify the terror. A particularly chilling symbol emerged: the red handprint, representing the murdered Israeli reservists whose bodies were desecrated by their attackers.

The response – or lack thereof – within the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, an organization I’ve been a part of since 1995, was deeply revealing. An industry that champions inclusion and empathy seemed to avert its gaze when Jewish people were targeted with unimaginable cruelty.

This compelled me to create something, resulting in the scripted TV series, “Red Alert.” It wasn’t about entertainment; it was a mission to honor the victims and survivors, to amplify the stories that were being ignored or distorted.

We focused on narratives with universal resonance – a mother’s desperate race to save her son, a husband’s fight to rescue his wife, a mother shielding her daughters while her son is taken hostage. Crucially, we also included the story of an Arab family whose father’s bravery saved his child, himself, and ultimately, an IDF unit.

Israel is a remarkably multicultural nation, a fact often overlooked. Many Arabs were also murdered in these attacks, a truth we were determined to portray. These were ordinary people thrust into extraordinary circumstances, becoming heroes through sheer necessity.

The characters in “Red Alert” are based on real individuals who generously shared their experiences with us on set. We spent time with a man who lost his wife, a mother grieving her daughter, and a woman who saved a life connected to one of our actors. The impact was profound and transformative.

The hope is that “Red Alert” will move viewers, sparking a much-needed shift in the conversation. For those who have embraced misinformation, excused terror, or demonized Israel, I hope this series offers a path toward understanding the truth – a truth that cannot be denied.

News cycles fade, and events become distant memories. But “Red Alert” stands as a permanent testament to the courage of everyday heroes and the unwavering truth of what happened, ensuring their stories are never forgotten.
