PREDATOR TERRORIZES OSHAVA: Residents Targeted in Shocking Attacks!

A wave of terror gripped a quiet Oshawa neighborhood Tuesday afternoon as a 28-year-old man allegedly invaded homes and committed horrific acts against residents.

Police responded to a series of frantic calls beginning around 4:20 p.m., pinpointing the incidents to the area of Simcoe St. S. and Royal St., near Olive Ave. The initial reports described a man brazenly entering homes and exposing himself to startled occupants.

The disturbing pattern began with an intrusion where the suspect was frightened away by a family dog, narrowly escaping capture. But the escalating nature of his actions quickly became terrifyingly clear.

Mohamed Basil Lafir, 28, of no fixed address, is accused of breaking into homes in Oshawa and sexually assaulting multiple residents on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025.

At a second residence on the same street, the man allegedly confronted a homeowner and committed a sexual assault. The encounter marked a dramatic and violent turn in the unfolding events.

Undeterred, the suspect moved to the Simcoe St. and Fairbanks St. area, entering a third home while an elderly woman was in bed. Police allege he then committed another sexual assault before fleeing through the bedroom window.

Responding officers swiftly located and arrested the suspect without incident, bringing a tense situation to an end. The community breathed a collective sigh of relief, but the trauma lingered.

Mohamed Basil Lafir, currently with no fixed address, now faces a litany of charges including three counts of breaking-and-entering, one count of committing an indecent act, one count of forcible confinement, and two counts of sexual assault.

Investigators have released Lafir’s photograph, deeply concerned that other victims may exist who have not yet come forward. The hope is that this will encourage anyone with information to break their silence.

Anyone possessing potential evidence – cellphone recordings, dashcam footage, or surveillance videos – is urged to contact police. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers, offering a vital avenue for those hesitant to speak directly.
