SWALWELL UNDER FIRE: Trump's DOJ Unleashes Mortgage Fraud Investigation!

SWALWELL UNDER FIRE: Trump's DOJ Unleashes Mortgage Fraud Investigation!

A Justice Department investigation has been launched into Congressman Eric Swalwell, focusing on allegations of mortgage fraud. The probe, initiated under the previous administration, marks a significant escalation in scrutiny of the California Democrat.

Swalwell responded with defiance, framing the investigation as a direct consequence of his outspoken criticism of the former president. He expressed little surprise, asserting that he anticipated such action given his ongoing lawsuit and vocal opposition.

The Congressman drew parallels to others who have faced scrutiny after challenging the former president, including James Comey and Adam Schiff. He vowed to continue his legal battle and maintain his critical stance, refusing to be intimidated.

The investigation follows recent questions surrounding campaign finance disclosures. Filings revealed over $360,000 in payments to a single staffer, Darly Meyer, over several years, categorized under a wide range of expenses.

These payments, documented through Swalwell’s campaign and associated political action committee, covered items ranging from standard salary and travel to more ambiguous categories like security services and event flowers. The sheer volume and varied descriptions have drawn attention.

Campaign expenditures also show a pattern of significant spending on luxury accommodations and services. Reports detail expenses at high-end hotels and restaurants in global cities like Dubai, Berlin, and Paris.

This development arrives amidst a backdrop of past accusations made by Swalwell regarding potential collusion between the former president and Russia. These claims, however, were challenged by independent investigations.

The Durham report, released in 2023, concluded that intelligence agencies lacked concrete evidence to support the initial justification for the Trump-Russia probe. This echoed the findings of the earlier Mueller report, which similarly found no evidence of a criminal conspiracy.

The Justice Department has not publicly commented on the specifics of the investigation, and the full scope of the inquiry remains unclear. The situation is rapidly evolving, with further details expected to emerge.
