CHELSEA REVERSAL: Outcast STAR Gets Second Chance!

CHELSEA REVERSAL: Outcast STAR Gets Second Chance!

Axel Disasi endured a chilling exile at Chelsea, effectively banished to a ‘bomb squad’ and cut off from the first team. For months, the French defender watched from the periphery, his once promising career at Stamford Bridge seemingly stalled.

Now, a flicker of hope ignites for Disasi. Reports indicate the club is poised to reintegrate him into the senior squad, a significant shift after a period of isolation. He’s already back in training with the first team, having recently captained Chelsea’s Under-21 side.

Yet, this return doesn’t necessarily signal a long-term future in blue. Despite escaping the ‘bomb squad,’ Disasi is widely expected to be available for transfer when the January window opens. His heart, it seems, lies elsewhere.

Last summer, Disasi actively sought a move back to his former club, Monaco. He turned down offers from West Ham and Bournemouth, holding out for a return to the Ligue 1 side where he previously thrived. The emotional pull of his former home proved incredibly strong.

“Monaco arrived and that hit me emotionally,” Disasi confessed. “I had three incredible years at Monaco. When they came in, all the memories came back. Monaco is home.” He relentlessly pushed for a loan deal, desperate to rejoin the club that held such significance for him.

The last time Disasi started a Premier League match for Chelsea was nearly a year ago, a 2-0 defeat. Despite 61 appearances for the club and five caps for France, his opportunities have dwindled. A loan spell at Aston Villa last season offered only limited playing time.

Disasi remains under contract with Chelsea until 2029, but the circumstances suggest a parting of ways is increasingly likely. The defender’s desire for regular football and a return to familiar surroundings may soon be fulfilled, even if it means leaving Stamford Bridge behind.
